El 21 de noviembre de 2020, el sat\u00e9lite despeg\u00f3 desde el complejo espacial de lanzamiento 4E en la Base de la Fuerza A\u00e9rea Vandenberg en California, EE. UU. Aproximadamente una hora y media despu\u00e9s del lanzamiento, una estaci\u00f3n terrestre en Alaska recibi\u00f3 las primeras se\u00f1ales de la nave espacial.<\/p>\n<p>El Copernicus Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich llevar\u00e1 a cabo mediciones de alta precisi\u00f3n de la topograf\u00eda de la superficie del oc\u00e9ano.
