en un dispositivo especial que simula condiciones de gravedad cero, la antena radar de 12,30 metros de ancho y 860 kg de SAR (Radar de Apertura Sint\u00e9tica) del sat\u00e9lite Copernicus Sentinel-1C ha desplegado con \u00e9xito sus alas en el Centro de Tecnolog\u00eda Integrada de Airbus en Friedrichshafen (Alemania) por primera vez.<\/p>\n<p>El Sentinel-1C es el tercero de la serie de sat\u00e9lites radar Sentinel-1 y garantizar\u00e1 la continuidad de los datos para los muchos servicios que ofrece el programa Copernicus de la UE. El sat\u00e9lite Sentinel-1C equipado con el instrumento SAR (radar de banda C) proporcionar\u00e1 im\u00e1genes de radar de toda la superficie de la Tierra como parte del programa Copernicus financiado por la Uni\u00f3n Europea y la Agencia Espacial Europea (ESA). Thales Alenia Space es el contratista principal del Sentinel-1C y de su gemelo Sentinel-1 D. Airbus Defence and Space es responsable de ambos radares.<\/p>\n<p>Estas im\u00e1genes de radar se utilizar\u00e1n en muchas esferas de la observaci\u00f3n de la Tierra, entre ellas la vigilancia de los hielos marinos del \u00c1rtico, la cartograf\u00eda rutinaria de los hielos marinos, la vigilancia del medio marino, la vigilancia de la superficie terrestre para detectar riesgos de movimiento, la cartograf\u00eda forestal, la ordenaci\u00f3n del agua y el suelo, y para apoyar la ayuda humanitaria y la vigilancia de desastres.<\/p>\n<p>La antena consta de un panel central que se fijar\u00e1 a la plataforma del sat\u00e9lite y dos alas de antena desplegables con dos paneles cada una. La prueba de despliegue consisti\u00f3 en comprobar el correcto despliegue de estas dos alas y medir la planitud de la antena como indicador de la futura calidad de la imagen del SAR.<\/p>\n<p>El siguiente paso en la secuencia de pruebas de aceptaci\u00f3n del instrumento SAR (antena completa con el subsistema electr\u00f3nico de la antena construido por Airbus Portsmouth, Reino Unido) es una campa\u00f1a de pruebas funcionales y de rendimiento, prevista hasta finales de octubre de 2020. Finalmente, se comprobar\u00e1n las caracter\u00edsticas de radiofrecuencia de la antena antes de que se env\u00ede el instrumento a Thales Alenia Space para su integraci\u00f3n en la plataforma.
