Mediante la correlaci\u00f3n de las im\u00e1genes captadas por la c\u00e1mara a bordo con elementos geogr\u00e1ficos como carreteras, r\u00edos y l\u00edneas de costa, el sistema genera correcciones absolutas de posici\u00f3n que compensan la deriva de los sistemas inerciales y mejoran la precisi\u00f3n de navegaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Como complemento a esta capacidad, la Navegaci\u00f3n Referenciada al Terreno proporciona una fuente adicional de posicionamiento mediante la correlaci\u00f3n de las mediciones de altitud obtenidas durante el vuelo con Modelos Digitales de Elevaci\u00f3n (<em>Digital Elevation Models, DEM<\/em>) previamente cargados en el sistema. Esto permite estimar la posici\u00f3n m\u00e1s probable de la aeronave y seguir generando correcciones de navegaci\u00f3n incluso cuando las referencias visuales son limitadas o no est\u00e1n disponibles.<\/p>\n<p>A diferencia de los sistemas de navegaci\u00f3n a estima convencionales (<em>dead reckoning<\/em>), donde los errores de posicionamiento aumentan progresivamente a medida que se recorre distancia, la combinaci\u00f3n de Odometr\u00eda Visual, Comparaci\u00f3n de Mapas Satelitales y Navegaci\u00f3n Referenciada al Terreno (TRN) permite al VNS01 mantener el error de navegaci\u00f3n acotado incluso durante interrupciones prolongadas del GNSS.
