El tr\u00e1fico intra-regional explic\u00f3 el 81% del incremento neto, impulsado principalmente por los mercados dom\u00e9sticos de Brasil, Argentina y Per\u00fa, que aportaron m\u00e1s de la mitad del crecimiento.<\/p>\n<p>La oferta de vuelos creci\u00f3 1,2% interanual, mientras que la capacidad total (asientos) aument\u00f3 2,5%, reflejando el uso de aeronaves de mayor tama\u00f1o, con un promedio de 160 asientos por vuelo frente a 158 en agosto 2024<sup>[1]<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Resumen de indicadores<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>La capacidad medida en asientos-kil\u00f3metro disponibles (ASK) creci\u00f3 4.7% interanual.<\/li>\n<li>La demanda, en pasajeros-kil\u00f3metro transportados (RPK), aument\u00f3 4.8% interanual.<\/li>\n<li>El factor de ocupaci\u00f3n promedio fue de 85%.<\/li>\n<li>En el acumulado enero-agosto, el tr\u00e1fico a\u00e9reo en LAC alcanz\u00f3 320.6 millones de pasajeros, lo que representa un crecimiento del 3.8% vs. el mismo periodo de 2024.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>Brasil y Argentina lideraron el crecimiento de pasajeros<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Brasil fue el mercado que m\u00e1s contribuy\u00f3 al crecimiento regional en agosto, con 973 mil pasajeros adicionales (+9,5% interanual). El mercado dom\u00e9stico alcanz\u00f3 un r\u00e9cord hist\u00f3rico para agosto (8,7 millones de pasajeros, +8,6%), siendo el mercado dom\u00e9stico con mayor crecimiento entre los seis m\u00e1s grandes del mundo, seg\u00fan IATA <sup>[2]<\/sup>. El segmento internacional aument\u00f3 13,1% interanual, apoyado en un incremento de 38% en las llegadas de turistas extranjeros <sup>[3]<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>Argentina, tambi\u00e9n mostr\u00f3 un desempe\u00f1o s\u00f3lido, con +14,4% interanual (dom\u00e9stico +10,6%, internacional +19,1%). Fue el agosto con mayor tr\u00e1fico en la historia, superando en 6% el nivel de agosto 2019. Entre enero y agosto, el pa\u00eds acumul\u00f3 21,8 millones de pasajeros (+14,7%).<\/p>\n<h5><strong>M\u00e9xico, Colombia y Chile registraron crecimientos por debajo del promedio regional<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>M\u00e9xico, Colombia y Chile, que ocupan respectivamente el 2\u00ba, 3\u00ba y 6\u00ba lugar en la regi\u00f3n por volumen de pasajeros, registraron un crecimiento conjunto de apenas 0,7% interanual, muy por debajo del promedio regional.<\/p>\n<p>En M\u00e9xico el tr\u00e1fico total lleg\u00f3 a 10,2 millones de pasajeros (+1,3% interanual), con aumentos similares en los segmentos dom\u00e9stico (+1,3%) e internacional (+1,2%). El tr\u00e1fico con Estados Unidos, el tercer par de pa\u00edses m\u00e1s grande de la regi\u00f3n, creci\u00f3 por segundo mes consecutivo (+0,3% en agosto) tras la ca\u00edda de junio, manteni\u00e9ndose pr\u00e1cticamente estable en el acumulado enero\u2013agosto (\u20130,05% interanual).<\/p>\n<p>Colombia present\u00f3 una leve contracci\u00f3n (\u20130,1% interanual), con 5,06 millones de pasajeros. El mercado dom\u00e9stico cay\u00f3 3,2%, mientras el internacional aument\u00f3 4,1%, con incrementos importantes en el tr\u00e1fico con Ecuador (+14%), Brasil (+26%) y Per\u00fa (+11%). En el acumulado enero-agosto, el mercado dom\u00e9stico retrocede 1,9% respecto a 2024, afectado por la ca\u00edda en Bogot\u00e1 (\u20134,9%).<\/p>\n<p>Chile tuvo en agosto 2025 su primer resultado negativo del a\u00f1o en pasajeros totales (\u20130,2% interanual). El tr\u00e1fico dom\u00e9stico, que representa el 53% del total, cay\u00f3 2,2%, mientras que el internacional aument\u00f3 2,2% interanual. El tr\u00e1fico en rutas dom\u00e9sticas secundarias (sin origen\/destino en Santiago) creci\u00f3 3,7% interanual, destac\u00e1ndose las rutas Antofagasta\u2013Concepci\u00f3n (+33% interanual) y Antofagasta\u2013La Serena (+8% interanual).<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cLos datos de agosto confirman un crecimiento s\u00f3lido y una tendencia clara: la conectividad entre pa\u00edses latinoamericanos es hoy el principal motor de crecimiento del tr\u00e1fico a\u00e9reo. Ecuador transport\u00f3 835 mil pasajeros (+4,2% interanual), con un fuerte dinamismo en el tr\u00e1fico con Colombia (+14%). La oferta total de vuelos en Ecuador creci\u00f3 6,1% interanual, con aumentos significativos en las rutas con Argentina (+94%) <sup>[4].<\/sup><\/p>\n<h5><strong>Panam\u00e1 y Rep\u00fablica Dominicana impulsan el crecimiento en Centroam\u00e9rica y el Caribe<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>En Centroam\u00e9rica, el tr\u00e1fico desde y hacia la subregi\u00f3n creci\u00f3 7,0% interanual, liderado por Panam\u00e1 (+11,5%, 1,85 millones de pasajeros). Le siguieron Costa Rica (+2,2%), El Salvador (+0,3%) y Guatemala (+2,4%).<\/p>\n<p>En el Caribe, el tr\u00e1fico total aument\u00f3 5,3%, con Rep\u00fablica Dominicana a la cabeza (+6,0%, 1,7 millones de pasajeros). Jamaica creci\u00f3 3,6%, mientras Cuba disminuy\u00f3 6,2%.
