sector tur\u00edstico en t\u00e9rminos de contribuci\u00f3n econ\u00f3mica, de empleo y de gasto internacional. Se estima que el sector alcance una contribuci\u00f3n de 21.6 mil millones de d\u00f3lares al PIB nacional, lo que representar\u00eda el 5.1% total de la econom\u00eda del pa\u00eds, superando todos los registros anteriores.<\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan el Informe de Impacto Econ\u00f3mico (EIR) 2025 del WTTC, elaborado junto con Oxford Economics, se prev\u00e9 que el sector apoye 1.3 millones de empleos, equivalentes al 5.7% del total nacional, lo que tambi\u00e9n marcar\u00eda un r\u00e9cord para el empleo tur\u00edstico en el pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, se espera que el gasto de turistas internacionales alcance un m\u00e1ximo hist\u00f3rico de 10.5 mil millones de d\u00f3lares, reflejando un crecimiento constante de la demanda global por los destinos colombianos.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Una mirada retrospectiva al 2024<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>En 2024, el sector tur\u00edstico colombiano ya hab\u00eda mostrado se\u00f1ales de fortaleza. La actividad contribuy\u00f3 con 21 mil millones de d\u00f3lares al PIB (5% del total nacional) y super\u00f3 los 1.2 millones de empleos (5.4% del total).<\/p>\n<p>Los viajes internacionales representaron el 64.8% del gasto total, mientras que los viajes dom\u00e9sticos representaron el 35.2%, contribuyendo 10.3 mil millones de d\u00f3lares y 5.6 mil millones de d\u00f3lares, respectivamente.<\/p>\n<p>Los viajes de ocio dominaron la demanda, con un 87.3% del gasto, en comparaci\u00f3n con el 12.7% de los viajes de negocios.<\/p>\n<p>Los principales mercados emisores fueron Estados Unidos (21%), M\u00e9xico (9%), Ecuador (6%), Chile (5%) y Venezuela (5%).<\/p>\n<p>Julia Simpson, presidenta y CEO del WTTC, dijo: <em>\u201cColombia reafirma su posici\u00f3n como destino tur\u00edstico potente a escala global. El sector ha mostrado una evoluci\u00f3n extraordinaria y 2025 est\u00e1 proyectado para convertirse en su mejor a\u00f1o hasta la fecha.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cCon una creciente demanda internacional, mejoras en conectividad y una fuerte apuesta por la promoci\u00f3n, el pa\u00eds tiene todo para que el turismo siga siendo un eje estrat\u00e9gico de crecimiento, inclusi\u00f3n y desarrollo regional\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<h5><strong>Proyecciones del sector de Viajes y Turismo hacia 2035<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>De cara a 2035, el WTTC proyecta que el sector de viajes y turismo alcanzar\u00e1 26.5 mil millones de d\u00f3lares, con un crecimiento de m\u00e1s del 2.1% a\u00f1o con a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, el organismo global proyecta que el turismo apoyar\u00e1 1.8 millones de puestos de trabajo a lo largo de la pr\u00f3xima d\u00e9cada, con la incorporaci\u00f3n de m\u00e1s de 400 mil nuevos empleos en el sector, durante este periodo.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Datos regionales<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>En 2024, el sector de viajes y turismo en Centro y Sudam\u00e9rica aport\u00f3 358.7 mil millones de d\u00f3lares al PIB, representando el 7.5% de la econom\u00eda regional. Esto supera los niveles de 2019 en m\u00e1s del 9%. Los empleos en el sector alcanzaron los 17.5 millones, equivalentes al 8% del total de puestos de trabajo en la regi\u00f3n, con un crecimiento interanual del 4.4%.<\/p>\n<p>Para 2025, el WTTC prev\u00e9 que los viajes y el turismo en la regi\u00f3n aporten 372 mil millones de d\u00f3lares al PIB, lo que supondr\u00e1 el 7.6% de la econom\u00eda.
