Tras ser utilizado durante el Puente A\u00e9reo de Berl\u00edn para transportar personal y equipo, el Bataan se convirti\u00f3 en un transporte VIP. Durante la Guerra de Corea, fue utilizado como transporte personal del general Douglas MacArthur, quien le dio su apodo. Retirado en 1965, el Bataan fue rescatado del cementerio de chatarra por la NASA para apoyar el programa Apolo, antes de ser dado de baja en 1970. De 1970 a 1992, el avi\u00f3n permaneci\u00f3 en el Museo de Aviaci\u00f3n del Ej\u00e9rcito de los Estados Unidos antes de que Ed Maloney, del Museo A\u00e9reo Planes of Fame, lo adquiriera. De 1995 a 2016, el Bataan residi\u00f3 en la sede auxiliar de Planes of Fame en el Aeropuerto de Valle, Arizona.<\/p>\n<p>Air Legends Foundation adquiri\u00f3 el avi\u00f3n en 2015, y en 2016 fue trasladado a Chino, California, para su restauraci\u00f3n, a cargo de Fighter Rebuilders.
