Este ambicioso objetivo ser\u00e1 posible gracias al s\u00f3lido compromiso de toda la cadena de valor y a los avances tecnol\u00f3gicos y operativos; sin embargo, a\u00fan existen algunos desaf\u00edos en la regi\u00f3n de Am\u00e9rica Latina y Caribe para poder lograrlo.<\/p>\n<p>Es por ello que la Asociaci\u00f3n Latinoamericana y del Caribe de Transporte A\u00e9reo (ALTA) consolid\u00f3 un grupo de trabajo enfocado en cuatro pilares: 1) Eficiencia en las operaciones y nuevas tecnolog\u00edas, 2) Combustibles sostenibles de aviaci\u00f3n SAF, 3) Programas de compensaci\u00f3n de emisiones, 4) Instrumentos econ\u00f3micos para la gesti\u00f3n de cambio clim\u00e1tico.<\/p>\n<p>El Comit\u00e9 de Medioambiente de ALTA, integrado por aerol\u00edneas que operan en la regi\u00f3n, eligi\u00f3 como Presidenta a Johanna Cabrera, gerente de sostenibilidad de LATAM, quien comenta que recibe con grandes expectativas la responsabilidad de hacer parte del equipo de liderazgo de este grupo de trabajo que se encargar\u00e1 de ver temas relevantes que marcar\u00e1n la sostenibilidad de la industria en la regi\u00f3n y la hoja de ruta de los principales proyectos enfocados en mitigar los impactos ambientales de las operaciones y maximizar los efectos positivos de la operaci\u00f3n a\u00e9rea en las comunidades.<\/p>\n<p>En su primer encuentro virtual en este 2023, el comit\u00e9 cont\u00f3 con la participaci\u00f3n de representantes de Aerol\u00edneas Argentinas, Aerom\u00e9xico, Air Europa, Avianca, Copa Airlines, JetSMART, Iberia, LATAM, SKY Airline y VIVA. Adem\u00e1s de tratar los pilares del comit\u00e9, se discutieron iniciativas operacionales, mejores pr\u00e1cticas en programas de reciclaje de las compa\u00f1\u00edas y capacitaci\u00f3n del personal en materia medioambiental.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cOcuparnos del cambio clim\u00e1tico y sus consecuencias es, sin duda, una agenda prioritaria para muchas industrias en este siglo. La industria de la aviaci\u00f3n es innovadora por naturaleza y desde hace varios a\u00f1os ha implementado importantes medidas para tornar sus operaciones aun m\u00e1s responsables con el entorno. Para seguir avanzando hacia los ambiciosos objetivos planteados, la coordinaci\u00f3n de esfuerzos entre sectores p\u00fablico y privado es fundamental. La evoluci\u00f3n de la industria debe estar acompa\u00f1ada de regulaciones inteligentes que generen eficiencias y no trabas o costos adicionales. Latinoam\u00e9rica cuenta con una gran disponibilidad de materias primas para la producci\u00f3n de SAF en el mundo, solo en Brasil de acuerdo con las proyecciones se puede producir cerca de 9 millones de litros de SAF con 5 materias primas, lo cual reafirma la importancia de la regi\u00f3n en el abastecimiento del SAF a nivel mundial. Sin embargo, es prioritario avanzar en los esfuerzos por materializar este potencial, la generaci\u00f3n de incentivos y condiciones habilitantes que viabilicen el despliegue de una industria productora de SAF es fundamental.
