El evento fue parte integral de una serie de eventos centrados en el turismo y la aviaci\u00f3n organizados por la Organizaci\u00f3n de Turismo del Caribe y el Gobierno de las Islas Caim\u00e1n.<\/p>\n<p>En su discurso de apertura, Peter Cerd\u00e1, vicepresidente regional de IATA para las Am\u00e9ricas, afirm\u00f3 que la regi\u00f3n estaba en un buen camino de recuperaci\u00f3n luego de los efectos devastadores de la pandemia de COVID-19 y que con el entorno comercial adecuado, la aviaci\u00f3n podr\u00eda volver a convertirse en un fuerte contribuyente al bienestar socioecon\u00f3mico de la regi\u00f3n del Caribe.<\/p>\n<p>Antes de 2020, la aviaci\u00f3n y el turismo aportaban el 13,9% del PIB y el 15,2% de todos los puestos de trabajo en la regi\u00f3n del Caribe. Seg\u00fan el Consejo Mundial de Viajes y Turismo (WTTC), ocho de los diez pa\u00edses m\u00e1s dependientes del turismo a nivel mundial en 2019 se encontraban en esta regi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Para recuperar e incluso superar esta contribuci\u00f3n, se deben abordar las siguientes prioridades:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h5><strong>Conectividad:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Si bien la conectividad entre el Caribe y los importantes mercados de origen de Canad\u00e1, Europa y los Estados Unidos se ha restablecido en gran medida, los niveles de pasajeros dentro del Caribe solo han alcanzado el 60% de los niveles previos a la pandemia. Mejorar esto requiere un esfuerzo concertado para aumentar los enlaces a\u00e9reos dentro del Caribe. Esto tambi\u00e9n es un precursor para ofrecer m\u00e1s opciones de viaje multidestino.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h5><strong>Turismo multidestino:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Para seguir siendo competitivos con otros mercados tur\u00edsticos clave en todo el mundo, las diversas naciones del Caribe deben considerar la posibilidad de introducir ofertas de destinos m\u00faltiples en el mercado.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h5><strong>Experiencia de viaje perfecta:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Para facilitar los viajes hacia, desde y dentro de la regi\u00f3n, los gobiernos deben trabajar juntos para modernizar y simplificar las pol\u00edticas y procedimientos obsoletos que plantean desaf\u00edos operativos para las aerol\u00edneas y afectan negativamente la experiencia de los viajeros.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h5><strong>Entorno de costos competitivos:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>En la actualidad, el Caribe tiene algunos de los impuestos y tarifas m\u00e1s altos sobre las operaciones y boletos de las aerol\u00edneas. A modo de comparaci\u00f3n, a nivel mundial, los impuestos y cargos representan aproximadamente el 15 % del precio del boleto y en el Caribe el promedio es el doble, aproximadamente un 30 %. Los viajeros de hoy pueden llegar al otro extremo del mundo con uno o dos vuelos, y el costo total de las vacaciones se convierte cada vez m\u00e1s en un factor de decisi\u00f3n. Por lo tanto, los gobiernos deben ser prudentes y no salirse del mercado por precio. De manera similar, los proveedores de servicios de navegaci\u00f3n a\u00e9rea deben asegurarse de que sus cargos sigan siendo adecuados para el servicio real prestado.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cLos gobiernos y las partes interesadas expresaron su apoyo a las prioridades identificadas de la industria durante el D\u00eda de la Aviaci\u00f3n. Ahora esperamos ver las acciones y decisiones apropiadas. Por ejemplo, los impuestos, cargos y tarifas de los boletos deben reducirse para alinearlos con el promedio mundial. Aumentarlos ser\u00eda perjudicial para la demanda. Todos los participantes en la cadena de valor de los viajes deben trabajar al un\u00edsono para reconstruir la aviaci\u00f3n y el turismo en el mundo posterior a la pandemia.
