FORUM de la Agencia Espacial Europea (ESA) que medir\u00e1 el calor emitido por la Tierra hacia el espacio. FORUM, abreviatura de Far-infrared Outgoing Radiation Understanding and Monitoring, ser\u00e1 el primer sat\u00e9lite que observar\u00e1 la Tierra en la parte del infrarrojo lejano del espectro, proporcionando mediciones \u00fanicas de la energ\u00eda emitida por la Tierra para ayudar a mejorar la comprensi\u00f3n del sistema clim\u00e1tico.<\/p>\n<p>Las mediciones del espectr\u00f3metro de FORUM permitir\u00e1n a los cient\u00edficos recopilar una visi\u00f3n de alta resoluci\u00f3n del efecto invernadero de la Tierra y de las propiedades de las nubes de hielo y del vapor de agua en la atm\u00f3sfera. Airbus es el contratista principal de la misi\u00f3n y OHB proporciona el instrumento.<\/p>\n<p>Jean-Marc Nasr, responsable de Space Systems en Airbus, dijo: <em>\u201cEsta misi\u00f3n cr\u00edtica de observaci\u00f3n de la Tierra para medir la radiaci\u00f3n infrarroja de la Tierra por primera vez, proporcionar\u00e1 a los cient\u00edficos y climat\u00f3logos los datos que necesitan para mejorar sus previsiones sobre el calentamiento global. FORUM se suma a nuestra exitosa familia de misiones Earth Explorer y, al adquirir informaci\u00f3n novedosa, aportar\u00e1 grandes beneficios a la ciencia del clima&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Airbus en Stevenage dirigir\u00e1 el desarrollo del sat\u00e9lite, con Airbus en Alemania como responsable de la cadena de detecci\u00f3n de se\u00f1ales del instrumento, y Airbus en Francia proporcionando soporte de productos de la plataforma.<\/p>\n<p>El uso de tecnolog\u00eda probada en \u00f3rbita reducir\u00e1 considerablemente el riesgo y los costes del programa. La avi\u00f3nica para la misi\u00f3n se ha desarrollado, validado y volado en misiones anteriores, lo que permitir\u00e1 ahorrar en actividades de verificaci\u00f3n, desarrollo de software y procedimientos operativos.<\/p>\n<p>El principal instrumento de FORUM ser\u00e1 un espectr\u00f3metro por transformada de Fourier que operar\u00e1 en el infrarrojo lejano. La radiaci\u00f3n solar de onda corta es absorbida por la superficie de la Tierra y emitida nuevamente al espacio, a trav\u00e9s de la atm\u00f3sfera, en longitudes de onda infrarrojas m\u00e1s largas. FORUM tambi\u00e9n medir\u00e1 la firma de esta radiaci\u00f3n saliente, a partir de la cual se puede obtener una comprensi\u00f3n crucial del vapor de agua, las nubes de hielo, la nieve y el hielo de la superficie, el di\u00f3xido de carbono y otras caracter\u00edsticas de los gases de efecto invernadero. El sat\u00e9lite tambi\u00e9n estar\u00e1 equipado con una c\u00e1mara t\u00e9rmica para la validaci\u00f3n de las muestras en tierra.<\/p>\n<p>El sat\u00e9lite FORUM volar\u00e1 en formaci\u00f3n libre por delante del sat\u00e9lite MetOp-SG A1 para realizar observaciones sin\u00e9rgicas utilizando el interfer\u00f3metro de sondeo atmosf\u00e9rico infrarrojo de MetOp-SG A1. El uso de los datos de MetOp en longitudes de onda infrarrojas m\u00e1s cortas complementar\u00e1 y mejorar\u00e1 la propia ciencia de FORUM.<\/p>\n<p>La contrataci\u00f3n de peque\u00f1as y medianas empresas (PYMES) ser\u00e1 un elemento clave de la misi\u00f3n FORUM para seguir mejorando la cadena de suministro espacial en todos los estados miembros de la ESA. El sat\u00e9lite FORUM, de 883 kg, se situar\u00e1 en una \u00f3rbita polar a una altitud de 830 km y est\u00e1 previsto que se lance en un lanzador Vega-C desde Kourou (Guayana Francesa) en 2027.
