desarroll\u00e1ndose, el nivel de empleos generados por el sector podr\u00eda llegar a los 16 millones en la regi\u00f3n, registr\u00e1ndose un crecimiento de elementor-clearfix\"><p>El Consejo Mundial de Viajes y Turismo (WTTC, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s) estim\u00f3 que la contribuci\u00f3n del sector de viajes y turismo al PIB de Latinoam\u00e9rica podr\u00eda alcanzar los 233 billones de d\u00f3lares este a\u00f1o; es decir, un crecimiento de 48.2% con respecto al 2020.<\/p>\n<p>De acuerdo con la investigaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s reciente del WTTC en 2019, el sector de viajes y turismo de Latinoam\u00e9rica contribuy\u00f3 con 267 billones de d\u00f3lares al PIB (8.1% de la econom\u00eda de la regi\u00f3n). Sin embargo, en 2020, cuando la pandemia impact\u00f3 severamente a la industria, su contribuci\u00f3n cay\u00f3 en un 41.1%, es decir, a 157 billones de d\u00f3lares.<\/p>\n<p>A medida que la econom\u00eda global comienza a recuperarse de los efectos devastadores de la pandemia, los empleos del sector tur\u00edstico podr\u00edan recuperarse paulatinamente durante este a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n<p>Si las restricciones de viaje comienzan a flexibilizarse y los programas de vacunaci\u00f3n contin\u00faan avanzando, para 2022 los empleos generados por el sector de viajes y turismo podr\u00edan llegar a los 16 millones de puestos de trabajo, un 22.8% m\u00e1s que en 2020. Para ello, ser\u00e1 importante que se tomen medidas significativas para acelerar la recuperaci\u00f3n de este sector. Cabe se\u00f1alar que el crecimiento previsto para el PIB tur\u00edstico en Latinoam\u00e9rica para este 2022, todav\u00eda se encuentra 12.7% por debajo de los niveles anteriores a la pandemia.<\/p>\n<p>Julia Simpson, presidenta y CEO del WTTC, dijo: <em>\u201cEn los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os, el sector de Viajes y Turismo de Latinoam\u00e9rica se ha visto seriamente afectado. Sin embargo, nuestras \u00faltimas investigaciones muestran que 2022 podr\u00eda traer una fuerte recuperaci\u00f3n para el sector y la econom\u00eda mundial\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, Simpson asegur\u00f3 que, <em>\u201cMillones de puestos de trabajo dependen de la reactivaci\u00f3n del sector de viajes y turismo, pero todav\u00eda hay trabajo por hacer si queremos lograr una recuperaci\u00f3n econ\u00f3mica completa y recuperar todos los empleos perdidos\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>De acuerdo con la misma investigaci\u00f3n del WTTC, la contribuci\u00f3n del sector global de viajes y turismo a la econom\u00eda mundial podr\u00eda alcanzar los 8.6 billones de d\u00f3lares durante 2022, s\u00f3lo un 6.4% por debajo de los niveles anteriores a la pandemia.<\/p>\n<p>Asimismo, el sector podr\u00eda generar 58 millones de empleos en este a\u00f1o, para llegar a la cantidad de m\u00e1s de 330 millones de puestos de trabajo; es decir, s\u00f3lo un 1% por debajo de los niveles anteriores a la pandemia y un 21.5% en comparaci\u00f3n a 2020.<\/p>\n<p>El organismo mundial insta a los gobiernos a deshacerse del mosaico de restricciones y permitir los viajes internacionales, utilizando soluciones digitales que permitan a los turistas viajar de manera r\u00e1pida, simple y segura.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prensa
