El \u00faltimo vuelo de la plataforma de gran altitud (High Altitude Platform System, HAPS) de Airbus, propulsada por energ\u00eda solar, aterriz\u00f3 el 13 de septiembre en Arizona (EE.UU.) poniendo fin a la campa\u00f1a m\u00e1s ambiciosa y positiva de vuelos de Zephyr hasta la fecha.<\/p>\n<p>La campa\u00f1a de vuelos ten\u00eda una clara orientaci\u00f3n al cliente: buscaba demostrar la posibilidad de utilizar Zephyr para futuras operaciones volando fuera del espacio a\u00e9reo restringido y por encima del espacio a\u00e9reo compartido con la aviaci\u00f3n comercial. Zephyr, equipado con un sistema \u00f3ptico avanzado de observaci\u00f3n de la Tierra (Optical Advanced Earth Observation system for Zephyr, OPAZ), demostr\u00f3 su capacidad operativa para aportar una conciencia situacional instant\u00e1nea, persistente y mejorada.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cAirbus y el equipo de Zephyr han conseguido avanzar de manera decisiva durante la campa\u00f1a de vuelo de 2021 para demostrar la capacidad del HAPS. Zephyr es un programa importante para el Mando Estrat\u00e9gico del Reino Unido. Los vuelos estratosf\u00e9ricos duraron en torno a los 18 d\u00edas cada uno, con lo que se superaron los 36 d\u00edas de vuelo en esta capa de la atm\u00f3sfera durante la campa\u00f1a, y se a\u00f1aden otras 887 horas a las 2.435 horas de vuelo estratosf\u00e9rico que hab\u00eda acumulado Zephyr hasta la fecha.
