class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\"><p>En el marco de la entrega de los resultados del segundo trimestre del a\u00f1o, Grupo LATAM inform\u00f3 que prev\u00e9 para los pr\u00f3ximos seis meses mejores perspectivas operacionales, a pesar del profundo impacto de la pandemia en Am\u00e9rica Latina en lo que va corrido del a\u00f1o.\u00a0 De esta forma, el grupo proyecta alcanzar una capacidad superior al 50% (medido en ASK) al cierre del tercer trimestre de 2021, lo que representar\u00eda el nivel m\u00e1s alto de operaci\u00f3n de LATAM desde que empez\u00f3 la pandemia.<\/p>\n<p>A su vez, el grupo inform\u00f3 que finaliz\u00f3 el trimestre con US$2.300 millones de liquidez disponible, US$1.500 millones en caja y US$800 millones en l\u00ednea de financiamiento comprometida DIP.<\/p>\n<p>Roberto Alvo, CEO de LATAM Airlines Group, sostuvo que <em>\u201clas nuevas olas de la pandemia en la regi\u00f3n generaron un semestre complejo, que no nos permitieron seguir recuperando nuestra operaci\u00f3n como esper\u00e1bamos. No obstante, los avances en nuestro plan de\u00a0 reestructuraci\u00f3n fueron positivos. Esperamos un segundo semestre m\u00e1s activo, siempre pensando en fortalecer al grupo y cuidar a nuestros clientes\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>En el segundo trimestre, los ingresos totales sumaron US$888,7 millones, lo que implic\u00f3 una ca\u00edda de 62,5% respecto de 2019. Los ingresos de pasajeros disminuyeron 77,4%, cuyo impacto fue compensado parcialmente por un incremento de 37,5% en los ingresos de carga, ambos comparados con el mismo periodo de 2019.\u00a0 Las operaciones de carga siguen destac\u00e1ndose por su contribuci\u00f3n al grupo, alcanzando ingresos por US$370,2 millones durante el trimestre, impulsados, principalmente, por los aviones cargueros que alcanzaron niveles de utilizaci\u00f3n hist\u00f3ricos tras un fuerte escenario de importaci\u00f3n y exportaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Por su parte, los costos disminuyeron 46,5% en relaci\u00f3n a igual periodo de 2019, llegando a los US$1.246 millones. Es destacable el esfuerzo que ha realizado el grupo por reducir y variabilizar sus costos fijos.<\/p>\n<p>El resultado operacional registr\u00f3 p\u00e9rdidas por US$357,7 millones en el trimestre analizado.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sostenibilidad <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Un hecho destacable del periodo, y que tiene relaci\u00f3n con la proyecci\u00f3n del Grupo LATAM en el largo plazo, fue el lanzamiento de su estrategia de sostenibilidad, la que se fundamenta en cuatro pilares de acci\u00f3n: cambio clim\u00e1tico, gesti\u00f3n ambiental, econom\u00eda circular y valor compartido, medidas con las cuales el Grupo buscar\u00e1 compensar el 50% de sus emisiones dom\u00e9sticas al 2030, estableciendo un camino para ser carbono neutrales al 2050.<\/p>\n<p>En mayo, el grupo retom\u00f3 sus acciones de reciclaje, suspendidas transitoriamente a causa de la pandemia, incluyendo el reinicio del programa \u201cRecicla Tu Viaje\u201d de LATAM Airlines Chile y el programa de reciclaje de uniformes \u201cSegundo Vuelo\u201d de Latam Airlines Per\u00fa, los cuales se extender\u00e1n a otras filiales del grupo durante el 2021. Adem\u00e1s, el grupo anunci\u00f3 recientemente la formalizaci\u00f3n de alianzas entre su programa Avi\u00f3n Solidario y diversas fundaciones y organizaciones tanto en Chile como en Brasil. En el primer caso, LATAM est\u00e1 trabajando con DKMS, Coaniquem, Am\u00e9rica Solidaria, TECHO, Minsal y Fundaci\u00f3n F\u00fatbol M\u00e1s. Respecto a Brasil, el grupo cuenta con nuevas alianzas con la Asociaci\u00f3n Brasile\u00f1a de Defensa de la Mujer, la Infancia y la Juventud (Asbrad), Instituto de apoyo al quemado (IAQ), Defensa
