A trav\u00e9s de estas acciones y otras iniciativas, el grupo se propone compensar el 50% de las emisiones de sus operaciones dom\u00e9sticas al 2030. <\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Antes del 2023, el grupo eliminar\u00e1 los pl\u00e1sticos de un solo uso, reciclar\u00e1 todos los residuos en vuelos dom\u00e9sticos, convertir\u00e1 sus salones LATAM en 100% sostenibles, y ampliar\u00e1 su programa de reciclaje de uniformes y otros materiales. Queremos ser un actor que promueva el desarrollo social, medio ambiental y econ\u00f3mico de la regi\u00f3n por ello estamos asumiendo un compromiso que busca contribuir a la conservaci\u00f3n de los ecosistemas y el bienestar de las personas de Am\u00e9rica del Sur, convirti\u00e9ndolo en un mejor lugar para todos y todas\u201d<\/em>, dijo Roberto Alvo, CEO de LATAM Airlines Group.<\/p>\n<p>Uno de los grandes anuncios de la jornada fue la primera fase de una colaboraci\u00f3n con The Nature Conservancy (TNC) para planificar acciones de conservaci\u00f3n y reforestaci\u00f3n en ecosistemas ic\u00f3nicos de la regi\u00f3n. TNC es una organizaci\u00f3n ambiental global que trabaja basada en la ciencia, creando soluciones a los desaf\u00edos m\u00e1s urgentes de nuestro planeta para que la naturaleza y las personas puedan prosperar juntos.<\/p>\n<p>Con m\u00e1s de 35 a\u00f1os de experiencia en Am\u00e9rica Latina, nuestros estudios cient\u00edficos han demostrado que la restauraci\u00f3n y regeneraci\u00f3n de bosques pueden contribuir de manera eficiente a los objetivos de Contribuci\u00f3n Determinada a Nivel Nacional (NDC). TNC cree que la colaboraci\u00f3n multisectorial puede acelerar la implementaci\u00f3n de soluciones basadas en la naturaleza para mitigar los impactos del cambio clim\u00e1tico, proteger la biodiversidad y desarrollar un futuro m\u00e1s pr\u00f3spero para las personas en la regi\u00f3n\u201d, dijo Ian Thompson, Director Ejecutivo de The Nature Conservancy (TNC) Brasil.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Una estrategia para los pr\u00f3ximos 30 a\u00f1os <\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>La estrategia de sostenibilidad para los pr\u00f3ximos 30 a\u00f1os contempla cuatro pilares de trabajo: gesti\u00f3n ambiental, cambio clim\u00e1tico, econom\u00eda circular y valor compartido. Las l\u00edneas de acci\u00f3n fueron dise\u00f1adas de forma colaborativa con expertos y organizaciones ambientales de toda la regi\u00f3n.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Respecto del pilar de cambio clim\u00e1tico, el grupo anunci\u00f3 que trabajar\u00e1 en la reducci\u00f3n de sus emisiones mediante la incorporaci\u00f3n de combustibles sostenibles y nuevas tecnolog\u00edas de aviaci\u00f3n que, se estima, estar\u00e1n disponibles a partir del 2035. <em>\u201cEl medioambiente no puede esperar 15 a\u00f1os para que tengamos las tecnolog\u00edas necesarias para reducir las emisiones. Es por esto que trabajaremos en paralelo en impulsar estas transformaciones y en compensar nuestras emisiones a trav\u00e9s de soluciones basadas en la naturaleza\u201d<\/em>, se\u00f1al\u00f3 Roberto Alvo, CEO de LATAM Airlines Group.<\/p>\n<p>Mediante el desarrollo de una cartera de proyectos de conservaci\u00f3n, entre otras iniciativas, el grupo LATAM buscar\u00e1 compensar el 50% de las emisiones dom\u00e9sticas al a\u00f1o 2030, estableciendo un camino para ser carbono neutro al 2050. Se intervendr\u00e1 en ecosistemas ic\u00f3nicos de Sudam\u00e9rica como la Amazon\u00eda, el Chaco, los Llanos del Orinoco, el bosque del Atl\u00e1ntico y El Cerrado, entre otros.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, el grupo LATAM impulsar\u00e1 un programa que permitir\u00e1 a los pasajeros, clientes corporativos y de carga la opci\u00f3n de compensar las emisiones de CO2 asociadas a sus viajes. Paralelamente, el grupo compensar\u00e1 la misma cantidad de emisiones de CO2 que los clientes bajo el programa 1+1.<\/p>\n<p>En econom\u00eda circular, el grupo LATAM se comprometi\u00f3 a promover una cultura de eliminaci\u00f3n, reducci\u00f3n, reutilizaci\u00f3n y reciclaje en toda la operaci\u00f3n a fin de llegar al 2027 como un grupo que genere cero residuos a vertedero. Para ello, se eliminar\u00e1n los pl\u00e1sticos de un solo uso antes del 2023 y se ampliar\u00e1 el programa de reciclaje a bordo en todas las rutas dom\u00e9sticas del grupo LATAM, y se transformar\u00e1n todos los salones LATAM en 100% sostenibles. De igual forma, el grupo va a implementar un programa de reciclaje de uniformes en todos los pa\u00edses y un\u00a0 plan de reemplazo de materialidades a bordo por elementos compostables, reciclables o certificados.<\/p>\n<p>Por su parte, en el pilar valor compartido el grupo ampliar\u00e1 su capacidad de transportar carga y personas para programas de salud, cat\u00e1strofes naturales y cuidado del medio ambiente. Cabe recordar que desde que se inici\u00f3 la pandemia, gracias al programa Avi\u00f3n Solidario, se han transportado m\u00e1s de 29,4 millones de vacunas gratuitamente en sus filiales, m\u00e1s de 1.400 profesionales de la salud, sobre 490 toneladas de insumos m\u00e9dicos y m\u00e1s de 1.500 \u00f3rganos y tejidos en Sudam\u00e9rica. A su vez, el programa ha concretado 10 transportes de c\u00e9lulas madre para pacientes con c\u00e1ncer de sangre.<\/p>\n<p>Y en el caso de gesti\u00f3n ambiental, el grupo LATAM va a implementar un sistema, transparente y auditable, que le permitir\u00e1 tener presente las variables ambientales en todos los procesos del grupo, el que contar\u00e1 con la certificaci\u00f3n ambiental (IEnvA) en
